Going FULL holistic

Updated: Dec 12, 2018

Mind, body and soul. As many of you know I recently ended my temodar chemotherapy at 6 months and have decided to go full holistic. The questions have come in and I know you want to know what I am doing and what you should do. My mom calls me the guinnea pig because I am literally using myself to try EVERYTHING and be able to share with you what works! I am determined! So what am I doing and why?

Acupuncture: I do acupuncture once a week. It is helpful to relieve stress, pain, anxiety, headaches and is beneficial for cancer. I have horrible back pain and anxiety so this helps! Check with your insurance, in many cases it is covered. https://www.medicalacupuncture.org/

Massage therapy: I do thai massage therapy every 1-2 weeks. Release toxins, relax and helps with my back pain. Again check with your insurance to see if it is covered through a chiropractor clinic. https://www.massagemag.com/new-research-shows-massage-therapy-benefits-brain-tumor-patients-8343/Ozone

Reiki: When in California I was doing Reiki about every other week. It was incredibly helpful during treatments and I missed it when I moved back to Portugal so was happy to learn I was able to continue with long distance reiki. It is just as powerful and healing. I work with Karen Spiwak at www.summersoulllc.com in Redondo Beach, CA https://draxe.com/what-is-reiki/

Ketogenic diet: I started the Keto diet right after my past 2nd surgery in January 2018. I believe it really helped me during treatments. I was able to remain active and had plenty of energy which the doctors couldn't believe. Whether you go full Keto or not CUT out the sugar and white carbs ASAP!!! Drink a TON of water and make sure if you eat meat and dairy they are organic and hormone free!!! https://ketodietapp.com/Blog/lchf/ketogenic-diet-and-brain-cancer

Supplements: I take a lot! Starting first thing in the AM on an empty stomach I take Royal Jelly (this is a MUST during temodar, proven it helps it work better) From there I take through the day:

Theracurmin HP triple strength, Melaton-5mg a night, Coriolus versicolor SAP/Hot Water Extract, Green tea extract 80% 275mg (I also drink 2 cups of green tea a day), Ruta graveolens 6ch, Calcarea Phosphorica 6c, vitamin D, C, and B12. Check with your Dr. before starting anything and search your area for a naturopathic oncologist to work with and have monitor you.

Cannabis: One seriously powerful plant!!! Cannabis when you have cancer is a MUST! It is also a must for anyone that needs a pharmaceutical drug to treat an issue and wants to avoid using one!!! CBD can help with SO many issues!!! Look into it! I had the pleasure of attending the 1st portuguese medical cannabis conference this past weekend and met some of the main influencers of cannabis from all over the world including Cristina Sanchez, Raphael Mechoulm, Dr. Ethan Russo, Dr. Janosch W. Kratz and Natalya Kogan and they gave me some very useful info.

I use a 1:1 THC oil and also a pure CBD oil. You NEED both, THC is what has the psychoactive effects but it is also what kills the tumor cells and without CBD you will get extremely high which I do not like AT ALL. It is not fun. It is super scary!!! People think I am lucky I get to medicate with marijuana well let me tell you, it is not easy. I am waiting to get to the max dose until I am back at my parents in CA so I have more caretakers. I need help while doing this high dose protocol. Start slow! CBD will lower this from happening. Here are some tips if you take too much THC and want to lower the high https://hightimes.com/guides/come-down-from-high/. It also seems a Sativa strain is best for brain tumors. To use the oil place it under your tongue, that big vein goes straight to the brain. Recommended dosing per day for a cancer patient is 250-500mg PURE CBD and 125-250mg THC. This is recommended until the tumor shrinks then you can change to a maintence dose. This is a very very high dose and getting up to that amount is going to take time. Make sure you are getting your oils from a trusted reliable source that can show you all the facts. You do not want to buy something and not know exactly what is in there. If it is made poorly it could be filled with pesticides which would have the opposite affect of what we want. There are sadly alot of scammers out there trying to claim is it"organic", "RSO", "FECO"...ask for the lab results and ask the questions like where, how it is made, which strain is it and if they are claiming something like it will "cure cancer" BEWARE and be careful. Also note that every person that spoke at the conference said to NOT take Rick Simpson oil and follow that protocol or make it at home yourself. https://canniatric.com/research-library/

Ozone therapy: I do ozone therapy once a week. I switch between intravenous and rectal. It shows to be very powerful in helping cancer patients. http://www.oxygenhealingtherapies.com/ozone_therapy.html

Low Dose Naltrexone: I will be starting this in the new year. I am adding everything slowly a day at a time so I can make sure I tolerate it well. The studies are very promising and all the team suggested it cannot hurt so why not! Here is a study on it. http://lowdosenaltrexone.org/

Exercise: Super important for the mind and body plus SWEAT!!! Sweat out the toxins and release stress. Exercise is so good for the brain and just overall makes you feel so much better. Just do it!!!

Steam room/Turkish bath: My gym has one and its amazing so why not! :) A great way to rid of toxins and stress. http://www.oxygenhealingtherapies.com/steam_sauna_rejuvenation_benefits.html

I have avoided so many pharma drugs with these holistic approaches. The only pharma drug I am on is 1000mg Keppra 2xs per day which I hope to lower soon and eventually ween off. I will continue to do MRI's every 3 months. For now I look good and am stable. I want to see shrinkage and cannot wait to hear those words! I remain hopeful and positive I made the right decision and everything is going to work and be alright!

As for how I figured out what and how to do these things...I put in my own time and research to find pretty much everything I could do. I also had lots of suggestions from all of you! I work with UCLA ketogenic specialists, naturopathic oncologist Dr. Kristin Green in Thousand Oaks, CA and Dr. Janosch Kratz at Kalapa Clinic in Barcelona, Spain. If you are located in CA for cannabis I recommend Aunt Zelda's or Canniatric both in Northern CA. They both offer consultations, dosing guide and products.
